Dietary Supplements 101

Multi-Vitamins, calcium, glucosamine, anti-oxidants, etc… these are some of the most frequent “general health” supplements. The standard purpose of a general health product is to work as a sort of “safety net”, providing additional health support where your daily nutritional habits may flunk. These supplements won’t make you muscular or lanky, nevertheless they might just help you feel or work better! Steelcut Testosterone


Creatine, BCAA’s, fat gain powders, etc… these are samples of hypertrophy supplements. The basic reason for a hypertrophy supplement is to promote muscle growth. Boosting your calorie intake and making sure you consume enough amino acids to correct your muscle tissue following an powerful bout of training will improve your ability to build muscle. That said, apart from anabolic steroids and growth hormone (both of which are illegal) not many supplements are actually known to actually work in this sense.

Fat Loss

No cases are needed here! All of us all see advertisements for fat loss supplements every day of our lives. The products are what have flipped the supplement industry into a multi-billion dollar-per-year list! Most are thermogenics, using caffeine, green tea, and other stimulants to activate the nervous system and force a higher food burn in the end user. The products, when combined with proper nutrition and exercise have helped many people lose excess body-fat more rapidly than what may have recently been possible without. Unfortunately, others have fallen less than this goal and occasionally have presented multiple health threats, some very serious.

Not Controlled by the FDA

The meals & Drug Administration will not consider supplements to be medications. Because of this view supplements are not regulated by the FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION. This means that while there are a lot good products on industry, there are also some that do definitely not deliver on their enthusiastic promises. Of course like medications, supplements may also be dangerous if taken incorrectly or in conjunction with another dietary supplement or medication. Because of this , it is always a good idea to check with your physician before taking anything at all!
